Topic: Incoming calls not connected

Incoming calls are not connecting on my phone.  Callers hear four rings and then nothing.  If I pick up the phone I can hear them but they can't hear me.  This has been an ongoing problem and I have followed the instructions in the FAQs resetting everything but to no avail.  Please help.

Re: Incoming calls not connected

avines, calls are hitting your acct and go direct to vm when I tested.  Please provide us all the info requested on the 2 links below.  Thank you

Re: Incoming calls not connected

No change in service.  Don't know if this is all the information you will need but I'll try

Speed test  Detail for Test #12499

ISP: Charter Cable

Cable Modem: Motorola Surfboard SB5100

Router Belkin N Router Model F5D8236-4 v2

Voip provided HT286  Light status: Off   Don't know IP

Phone: Panosonic KX-TC1743W

Don't know ports.  This configuration has been working for about 9 months I purchased a new wireless router to replace a linksys router that didn't have suitable range.  Prior to that I have not made any changes since VOIP service started.   Problem started about 3 months ago and when I turned everything off and rebooted my computer it seemed to work ok but will not receive any incoming calls at this time.  Outgoing calls appear to work.

Re: Incoming calls not connected

avines, this router appears to be a problem child when it comes to working with voip. Most Belkins are.

As you can see here http://forum.voip.com/topic/19926/probl … -quality/, Thermodyne had to use a 3rd party firmware update to unlock some features the Belkin for whatever reason doesn't allow you to do.

Linksys is for the most part plug and play although some of the new wireless N routers do require a couple of option changes.  You can try to forward ports perhaps the firmware rev in your box has been updated to allow this or try putting in DMZ.   The only other things I can suggest is to call Belkin and find out if a revised firmware update is available to allow this model to work with voip or as that post suggests, have isp bridge you.
