Topic: Web site non-responsive

I'm trying to convince my parents to sign up for voip.com service, and apparently the web site picks right now to slow down and/or come to a complete stand-still. For example, this page:

https://www.voip.com/switchpage.asp

will not let me click the "Residential" link. It just sits there and does nothing, as if the server has accepted my browser's connection but never responds. All I want to do is update my physical address! This is not the way to encourage new customers.

OK, since I started composing this message, it's working again. But now I discover it's not the right link anyway. That "Residential" link takes me right back to the main "dashboard" page. So far I haven't found where I update my street address. Wherever it's buried, it's not obvious. I'll keep digging...

Aha! Found it! It's not under "Account" anywhere, it's under "Billing." This is actually the first place I looked, but at first glance it just looked like a detailed billing history. Off to the right, in tiny print, is a link that says "edit your billing information." Not the easiest thing to find, guys.

Re: Web site non-responsive

I should point out, by the way, that while the main site (https://www.voip.com/) was non-responsive, the forum, and other sites on the internet, worked fine, so this was not an outage on my end, nor a routing issue between me and voip.com.

Re: Web site non-responsive

Dear Pestie,

I'm also new to VoIP.com forum but still i have no issue from that forum and i think they are very cooperative and will resolve your issue.

Re: Web site non-responsive

Pestie,

You may wish to consider a pay by minute plan for your folks, if you have an ATA or softphone they could use, then it wouldn't cost them anything but a buck and a half for the 911 service .  old people are smart, they dont want to spend a nickle w/o getting a benefit .. [advertisement] has such a plan and im sure there are others ... they also have guides for setting up the ATA (although I choose a different codec to use as an experiment)

@ about 2 cents a min/ for 10 bucks thats 500 minutes ............. how can you beat that?
