Topic: Voicemail shown online vs one by phone and by email

Last Thursday I received by email a voicemail that was left at 5:40pm.  The file showed 52k in size and I could hear it perfectly.  Over the weekend I decided to clean up the voicemail inbox on line and saw a message coming from the same phone number and time received that was emailed to me on Thursday.  I decided to listen to it one more time and when I tried to play it in Windows Media Center I got notice that Media Center didn't recognize the file.  Also looking at the length reported online it showed as 0:00 meaning no length.  So I decided to do an experiment and called my phone number from my home phone.  It took me to my voicemail and I logged in.  I was informed that I had saved messages.  The very first one was the wave file with the message that was emailed to me last Thursday.  So of the 3 areas I can pick up voicemail the online version does not always allow me to hear the message.  Obviously there is a problem with the build of the wave file which copies the voicemail from the server housing the data heard over the phone and the one that is seen online.  I contacted Tech Support by phone and they agreed there's a problem.  She is reporting it but requested I post the issue here as well.  I still have the email with the voicemail plus I left a copy of it in the phone data as well as the one shown in my inbox online.  Please look into this and repair the problem of saving the voicemail wave files properly to the website so I can hear them when I try to listen to them there.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Re: Voicemail shown online vs one by phone and by email

It just happened again.  I just received the emailed version of the voicemail here at work and was able to hear the message.  After that I went to see what the online version was like.  Again the message is listed but shows as 00:00 in length and Windows Media Player cannot play it.  What's up with the online version of the voicemails?  I realize that there is a work around by the email and calling my phone number but I should have to because VOIP.com advertises that online access is available.  I request that a fix to the saving of the voicemail to the web server be fixed.

Re: Voicemail shown online vs one by phone and by email

Now December 23, 2009, six months after first reporting this problem nothing has been fixed.  I received a voice mail today, a copy of which was sent by email and of course it can be accessed from the house phone, but what shows in my online account is a message of zero length and I get an error when I try to open it.  The message was the result of a call from a cell phone.  Could it be possible that messages left by persons on cell phones are incompatible with the VOIP service?  Can someone at VOIP look into this problem?  I'll leave the copy of the message in my inbox and if you want I'll forward the email I received that has the message in it that I can listen to.  PLEASE VOIP DO NOT IGNORE THIS ISSUE THIS TIME!!!!!
